What is

Fringe?

Fleabag. Baby Reindeer. Robin Williams. Judi Dench.

What do these famous shows and actors have in common? They got their start at the Edinburgh Fringe, the world’s largest arts festival. First launched in 1947, Edinburgh Fringe provided independent artists a platform to share their work, ranging from new musicals, small immersive performances, and everything in-between. Since then, cities all over the world have adopted their own Fringe Fests, with theatre and other art forms on display in a wide range of venues.

In the spirit of the Fringe, Telluride Theatre is launching a new year-round program: The Fringe Project. Applications are open to local artists with performance proposals for small-to-medium sized productions of ALL styles. This includes original or established plays/musicals, dance, comedy, immersive installations, and more!

Telluride Theatre will provide grants, marketing, technical & administrative support to Fringe producers. Applying artists are responsible for assembling their core creative team, but TT can help fill in the gaps (ie. casting, designers, etc.). TT will also lend resources such as costumes, props, lighting & sound equipment to Fringe productions.
